My duties consisted of maintaining the smooth operation of 6 large mainframe platforms that supported the State of FL statewide food stamp distribution and child support/public assistance management systems. I also supported the State of FL network support operations staff, who managed the statewide 3,000+ terminal network. I did all the mainframe and network troubleshooting, the upgrade of software releases for mainframe, network, and databases, trained client staff in troubleshooting techniques, wrote volumes of troubleshooting and utility software to make the state employees' jobs easier, and was the single go-to person for all Burroughs-related issues in this state agency.
