  Supervisor: Dr. Kalyanjyoti DeoriI did nanocatalysis in this internship wherein, we designed a zinc nanocatalyst to drive the synthesis of 1,4-derivative of 1,2,3-Triazole. Thus we were successful in developing a strategy for the synthesis of the aforementioned derivative in absence of copper. As a part of this internship, I gained experience in nanomaterial synthesis and, I carried a whole lot of organic reactions to get the final optimized result.

  Supervisor: Prof. Kanishka BiswasDuring this short internship, I had the opportunity to work on two projects based on metal chalcogenides (MCs). In one of my projects, I worked on developing a new MC and, investigated it's thermoelectric behavior. Through this project, I learnt to measure the thermoelectric figure of merit (Z), that dictates a material's ability to convert waste heat to electricity. In another project, I synthesized a known MC with a novel strategy and, investigated it's physical properties for energy device applications. Show less

  Master's thesis

  Supervisor: Dr. Vijayendra S. ShettiIn my master's project, I focused on synthesizing a few novel Porphyrin dyads. Our methodology involved a low-cost strategy to create porphyrin conjugates, which eliminates the use of costly metal catalysts. The as-synthesized conjugates exhibited exciting photophysics and have potential for use in OPVs. Working with porphyrins, I did a lot of organic synthesis, and I learnt ways of purifying and characterizing them.
