      As the campus coordinator for Rutgers, I worked with fellow organization members to educate our peers about the unsustainable nature of water privatization and the bottled water industry. We collected petition signatures to update the water infrastructure on campus, formed coalitions with other student groups, hosted events and film screenings, and advocated for updated and sustainable water infrastructure. Organizers are responsible for canvassing communities across New Jersey to inform residents about environmental issues pertaining to the safety and quality of their food and drinking water.

Other tasks I took on include: hosting monthly floor meetings, facilitating the creation of community standards, conflict resolution, crisis management, planning, budgeting, and implementing programs, and all the while, working and collaborating with a staff of 5 other RAs.

      Nj watershed ambassador

      The AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassador Program it is a community service oriented program administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Ambassadors promote watershed stewardship through environmental education and community involvement. We also monitor streams within our watershed management areas by performing biological and visual assessments. I served in the Barnegat Bay Watershed, a priority area for estuary research and restoration.
