My final year project investigated the use of acoustic methods to detect the successful seating of endoprosthesis.

      Design Engineer (Powertrain)

      As a Design Engineer for the Powertrain design team, I was responsible for the design, development and validation of powertrain components for Triumph's iconic motorcycles. I designed a large variety of motorcycle components but had a focus on exhaust and cooling systems. I progressed these designs from initial concept, through prototyping, testing and validation to mass manufacture. At all times I was required to consistently meet tight deadlines and deliver superb quality motorcycle components. Show less

      As the Senior Sector Engagement Manager for Automotive at AMRC, I act to protect the AMRC’s interests and drive growth in one of its primary business sectors of Automotive. I am expected to establish, nurture and developing opportunities effectively and act to influence key decision-making stakeholders and policy influencers within the sector. Specific responsibilities include:- Support the Commercial Director in developing and implementing the AMRC Automotive Sector engagement strategy. - Work with the Partner Engagement Managers to ensure the Automotive Sector engagement activities capture the key automotive partner priorities and expectations.- Work with the Research Theme Leads to understand and disseminate the use of manufacturing technologies for use within the UK Automotive sector. - Support large projects and programmes of work critical to the development of the AMRC Automotive strategy. Show less As a Senior Design and Development Engineer in the AMRC's Design and Prototyping Group (DPG) I was entrusted with technical oversight for a number of high-value R&D projects. My main responsibilities included:- Being the primary technical signoff for project-level decisions.- Reporting to both the Principal Design Engineer and Head of the DPG.- Work closely with AMRC partners to scope and progress new projects.- Signoff of engineering drawings to BS8888 standard and the maintenance of internal drawing standards.- Responsible for the team's PLM system and processes.- A member of various technical committees across the wider AMRC.       Lecturer in Manufacturing Technology

      As a Lecturer in Manufacturing Technology, I designed and delivered engaging subject modules for the AMRC Training Centre's Degree Apprenticeship Programme and assisted in curriculum planning. The modules I created covered topics including, Engineering Design, CAD, CAM, Group working, Multi-disciplinary Design and Additive Manufacturing. As part of my delivery, I championed pedagogies such as "Flipped Learning" and embraced interactive technologies wherever possible. I'm proud to say that my modules, and their delivery, were praised by staff and students and that I consistently achieved very high levels of student satisfaction.Details of the modules I designed and delivered can be found in the achievements section below under the "projects" heading. My additional responsibilities in this post included being a personal tutor for around 12 students per academic year as well as providing supervision and guidance for students completing their final year projects. Awards are made in a variety of categories. In 2021 I received an honourable mention in the Digital Innovation category for my work developing the FOCUS tool, an automated computer program to assess student CAD work and provide them with real time feedback.
