Did my biggest degree of professional growth and development while working alongside some of the most amazing thinkers, reasoners and teachers in the country. I worked in the under 2s room for most of my time here and loved it so much. I was introduced to the Magda Gerber RIE philosophy of teaching and learning and it opened a world of understanding for me. While here, I also grew as a Music and Movement lover. My interest in, and willingness to share, this curriculum interest was nurtured and my confidence in my own ability as a teacher grew tremendously. Show less

I loved every moment of being a teacher in this amazing setting and surrounded and supported by a team of honest-to-goodness teachers. A family run Centre with love at the epicenter. All the 'work' seemed effortless. Fun just happened and learning was a natural part of each day. As a teacher I grew in love with teaching all over again. I was inspired by the simplistic brilliance of the environmental setups and the experiences offered that were so rich in learning outcomes. All that we learn in Uni was unfolding in front of me for over a year. I would return there again if the opportunity arose for me to go back to Auckland. Miss you all dearly. Miss the professional discussions and the deep and meaningful debates about practice and theory. Show less

Sport is for everyone and barriers are a thing of the past. With the assistance of a great team of people, I work with clubs in the Waikato Region of New Zealand to ensure that people with a physical disability or visual impairment have access to sport and recreation. My main focus is on the development of club capability including the development of officials, coaches and volunteers. In order to have successful and strong clubs there is a need to have strength in governance.
