  My activities within the Archipelagos, ambiente sviluppo Italia/Archipelagos, environment and development are related both to research and science communication: 1. My research is focused on the diet and the incidence of microplastics in the Mediterranean monk seals inhabit the Ionian Sea, in collaboration with the HCMR, University of Siena, University Ca' Foscari, University of Tirana, as well as other NGOs, National Park Authorities, and other stakeholders. I previously studied the feeding ecology of the Mediterranean monk seal inhabit in Mauritanian in collaboration with CBD-Habitat. 2. I collaborate on ecology and conservation of the Mediterranean monk seal in the Ionian, Tyrrhenian and Adriatic Seas studying the population abundance and historical patterns of the mMediterranean monk seal in the Mediterranean Sea. 3. I am an expert advisor on otter diet studies at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (Germany). 4. I am also part of the team on communication on marine science and issues in marine environments to general public, with emphasis on schools is one of the main branches of the organization. That includes the collaboration with international institutions for the awareness of plastics in oceans in Spain and Italy, elaboration of educational strategies for the better communication between scientific community, schools, and general public, and collaborate in other scientific communication activities.   The Fisheries Knowledge for Optimal Sustainable Management -FishKOSM- project has been founded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine to develop ways to achieve different approaches for a better marine ecosystem, economic and social results. The main contributions of my research will be to identify and quantify marine mammal-fisheries interactions in relation to food requirements, and the examination of these requirements through food web models.   Apoyo al diseño de los programas de monitorización a proponer dentro del proyecto para los archipiélagos de las Azores, Madeira y Canarias para los grupos funcionales considerados de los descriptores D4 (redes tróficas), D1 (biodiversidad) y D3 (especies comerciales) colaborando, entre otras labores, en la obtención, el procesamiento y el análisis de la información y las muestras. Asistencia a los talleres y a las reuniones del proyecto de carácter nacional e internacional (en este último caso en lengua inglesa). Preparación, supervisión y puesta a punto de las bases de datos (Access, R) para su manejo con herramientas informáticas estadísticas (R y el entorno SIG) e integración de la información multidisciplinar recogida. Análisis de los datos recogidos durante los programas de monitorización mediante tratamiento estadístico (SIG, R, GAMs, etc).   My research is mainly focused on small pelagic fish species, plankton crustaceans and mesopelagic fish (in particular Maurolicus muelleri). I used biological and acoustic information from acoustic surveys for the development of indicators of the Descriptor 1 (MSFD) in the NorthAtlantic subregion of Spain.
