  I Volunteered with Co Infection Study Program, MRC/ UVRI Uganda Research UnitIBS: Infant BCG Study (an observational study), investigating the effect of maternal infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis on infant response to BCG immunization.DBS (Delayed BCG Study, Wellcome Trust funded project), investigating the impact of neonatal BCG immunization on the innate immune response to heterologous pathogens .my roles included, PBMC and dendritic cell isolation from whole blood, Blood culture for cytokine production, stool DNA extraction,quantification and PCR, separtion and storage of plasma,serum and whole blood, flow cytometry, ELISA among others.   I have worked on the following studies SiVET: Simulated Vaccine Efficacy Trial Immunology study (SiVET) which used Hepatitis B vaccine as a placebo and looking at the effect of pre-existing immune status on Hepatitis B vaccine mediated immune responses among HIV negative adult Ugandans.PREPIE: HIV Pre-exposure prophylaxis priming of immune Effectors (clinical Trial) looking at induction of HIV-1 specific immune responses in highly exposed individuals that remain uninfected while taking pre-exposure prophylaxis.HCBV: Hormonal contraception and bacterial Vaginosis which is looking at the effect of Norethisterone Enanthate and Depot medroxyprogesterone on recurrent bacterial vaginosis, vaginal microbiota, and inflammatory markers among women at the high risk for HIV infection in Kampala, Uganda.SI: Super Infection (prospective cohort study) which looked to characterize the frequency of HIV-1 multiple infection and superinfection as well as the associated Viral, immunological and host genetic factors associated with in a high risk fishing community and in a cohort of female sex workers Uganda that may be relevant for HIV interventions and vaccine formulations.I can carry out Laboratory analysis and diagnosis of disease including Malaria,HIV, and other STI infections, data management, Good clinical practice,Good laboratory practice among others.   Master Student fellow with BRecA(Nurturing Genomics and Bioinformatics Research Capacity in Africa), used insilico reverse vaccinology and molecular docking approaches to identify potential vaccine candidates against drug-resistant mycobacterium tuberculosis and mycobacterium bovis. Developed a multiepitope vaccine construct from a conserved protein sequence against drug-resistant Mtb and M.bovis from Ugandan globally available proteomes in the UniProt database
