  This internship involved one main project with the goal of automating segments of the calibration process for mobile elevated work platforms. This goal was met with a proof of concept featuring a simulation device and microcontroller. The microcontroller was used to read CAN data from an angle sensor commonly used on JLG lifts and control a linear actuator to simulate a hydraulic cylinder. Research done on the current calibration process and testing of the device shows a potential decrease of over 1,000 hours of non-value add work per year. Show less
