      Legal intern

Argyle Hotel Group is one of the world top 100 hotel groups and comprises a portfolio of mid-tier and luxury hotel brands located in China and the Asia-Pacific. Having completed a China Study Tour subject as part of my International Business major, I sought to further apply my studies by undertaking an internship in China. In 2014, I realised this goal by interning in the legal department of Argyle Hotel Group in Beijing. My responsibilities included registering AHG’s trademarks internationally, drafting and negotiating licensing contracts with American corporations and analysing Chinese – Australian diplomatic relationships. I took on further responsibilities outside the legal department, including, managing AHG’s western social media platforms (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram) as well as aiding HR in conducting interviews and reviewing resumes. In conjunction with my internship, I also privately taught English at a primary school in the Beijing Hutongs to primary school students in night time classes. I was also fortunate to travel around China’s East coast and explore some of China’s Western provinces. Show less
