  I am Expects Learning and Development manager. I develop, create, internally or externally source, arrange and deliver training programmes. I both teach and assess a raft of individual courses and learning and development programmes, to QCF standards; in order to maintain the education and continuous professional development of Expects 160 strong workforce. I create and refine teaching and assessment resources according to the identified required learning outcomes and identify and assign valid assessment principles to each course and programme. The organisation maintains a number of residential care homes in addition to nineteen supported living services, a large domiciliary care service, a day centre, a specialist community café promoting social inclusion, Sefton’s premier military veterans support service and a Head Office department with Operational Management, HR, Finance, Quality, Heath and Safety, Business Development and Training and Development functions. Each operational and non-operational business area of the organisation has specific training and development needs and requirements, making my post a challenging and continually evolving role. I have full budgetary control and responsibility. I manage the various multimodal training platforms that Expect utilise including E-Learning, internal and external providers, group training sessions and self directed training resources. I also oversee a number of staff ‘Training Champions’ who act as workplace training mentors and ‘spotters’ to that check that the training that has been delivered is being implemented successfully throughout the organisation and general staffing pool. Show less I project managed SMT directed time-sensitive tasks, projects, task-and-finish groups, company development programmes and applications such as quality awards, bids and tenders and leadership & management development programmes.I was integral to the review of Expect's quality systems, its operational procedures and frontline staff training in order to develop sustainable and robust services. The role involved advising and informing Expects CEO and Senior Management Team. This included briefing Expects Trustees who provide charitable governance and oversight. I gathered analysed, evaluate and produced reports and recommendations for senior and strategic management. I maintained strong links between internal staff and departments, and external organisations in order to ensure strong company development. I took the lead in re-designing, creating, implementing, training and managing the company wide implementation and then post roll out research and evaluation of a new Output and Outcome driven Person Centred Planning System called ‘CHASE’ across different service models of Health and Social Care: such as Residential, Supported Living, Outreach, Day Services and Military Veterans Services.   I was a member of Expect Group's Senior Management Team and Director a for a wholly owned subsidiary training company. Expect Group is a family of six wholly owned companies across England and Wales which provided specialist mental health, learning disabilities, ASD, dementia, physical health and housing related services to young adults, adults and the elderly. I was the director of one of the companies within the Expect group (Your Future Training Solutions). This company provided services to purchasing organisations (both internal and external to the group) across the country. The company I operated provided training and development services in Health and Safety, The Care Certificate, Risk Assessment, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, Epilepsy, Dementia training and more. I provided advice and guidance on regulations, quality and compliance and managed the training needs and development pathways of a workforce of circa 300 personnel. Show less
