      PI: Dr. David W. Litchfield Protein Kinase CK2 is a critical regulator of numerous cellular processes and is often dysregulated in cancer. My project aimed to explore the differential contributions of CK2 catalytic subunits (alpha and alpha prime) in key cancer-related processes, specifically cell proliferation and cell migration signalling pathways.4th year thesis: "Comparative Functional Analysis of Protein Kinase CK2 Catalytic Subunits α and α’"-Developed and optimized protocols for Western blotting, live-cell microscopy, cell proliferation, and cell migration assays to characterize the functional roles of CK2 catalytic subunits using a selective kinase inhibitor -Trained incoming student on wet lab protocols -Completed report and presented in two faculty seminars3rd year thesis: "Exploring a novel combination therapy utilizing CK2 and EGFR inhibitor for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC)"-Developed and optimized protocols for Western blotting, live-cell microscopy and cell proliferation assays for investigating potential combination therapy inhibiting both CK2 and EGFR kinases in TNBC cell lines Show less
