  I had overall responsibility for all matters relating to Quality & Reputation for Grant Thornton UK LLP.Every day is different. With my colleagues, I work to ensure that our audit, tax and advisory clients know that Grant Thornton is a firm with trust and quality at its heart. Our purpose is to build confidence in the integrity of financial markets and systems and so help shape an economy in which all can realise their potential. As an SLT member, I oversaw necessary changes to the manner in which Grant Thornton approached matters of quality and risk, delivering the move from local management of functional service line quality to a national approach, in so doing transforming quality.Prior to my time with the SLT, held held a variety of leadership roles within Grant Thornton as a tax partner, Regional Tax Partner (East Midlands) Office Managing Partner (Milton Keynes, Yorkshire & North East) and latterly Head of Tax for Grant Thornton UK. Building on my early years as an Inspector of Taxes and as a Senior Policy Adviser to the President of the Board of Trade, I have more than 35 years' experience advising on a range of tax issues.One of my areas of focus I am passionate about is working with government ministers, opposition parties, within Whitehall and with Regulators, to ensure that the voice of our clients is heard, with particular regard to their potential to grow, built on a purpose led culture and with quality at the heart of all they do.When I’m not working, I can be found spending time with my wife and youngest son, and seeing the careers of my older sons develop in London. When I can, I enjoy cycling, walking, cooking and the arts, although not necessarily in that order. Show less
