Its purpose is to shift public awareness from today’s doom-and-gloom journalism to the positive aspects of life, relating stories of achievement and determination, novel ideas and other feats that inform and inspire people to take action and make a difference. The consumers of news today are smothered by overwhelming pessimism, rendering them apathetic or dispirited. We too easily accept that little if anything can be done about problems such as ethnic strife, human trafficking and persistent poverty. Yet if humanity is to flourish, this negative attitude must change. By using multiple media channels to report how an individual or group is making a difference against war, pollution, disease, or in promoting education, sustainability and goodwill, The Good Times will lift people’s spirits and encourage them to reflect and appreciate what is good about the world. This will stir creativity, generosity and entrepreneurialism to solve problems and bestow spirituality and purpose to many lives.
