  As Divisional Co-Chair, my responsibilities included coordinating the work activities of five (5) Area Representatives. Essar Steel Algoma Inc. is an integrated steel mill involving everything from the delivery of coal and iron ore pellets (by boat), Coke Ovens, Blast Furnaces, Basic Oxygen Steel Making Shops, Slabcasters, Rolling Mills and Shipping. I was expected to have knowledge on all aspects of the steelmaking process and be able to make appropriate decisions regarding the Health and Safety of personnel working within the Plant.During my time with Essar, I completed my CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) accreditation, Environmental Engineering Technician, Environmental Law, WHSC Certification amongst much other training.
