      Illustrations in children’s picturebooks can stimulate emotional and cognitive development, visual literacy, artistic awareness, imagination and critical thinking. The field research investigated these aspects through the development of a visual literacy path with 6, 8 and 10 year-old children.

      “Città invisibili “ is the largest cultural network of municipalities and schools in Veneto dedicated to children and teens. The project aims at promoting Children’s Literature and visual literacy through picturebooks, art and the Italian artistic heritage. Veneto is the pilot region.Divided into four sections, the Biennial of Children’s Literature, the Children’s Festival, the Network Schools of Excellence and the Event Day (April 23rd, 2013), the project, which began in October 2012 and will end in June 2013, will promote more than 60 meetings during the Biennal of Children’s Literature and 683 cultural events within the Children’s Festival.www.cittainvisibili.org Show less
