As Patrol Commander, I was responsible for overseeing the largest division in the agency. I had to schedule, conduct Internal investigations, conflict resolution, oversee criminal investigations. Command scenes at major incidents, including homicides, home invasions, ect. I was also in command pf the Communications Center which handles all calls for service including Police, Fire and EMS. As the Community Services Unit Commander I have been closely involved with the community including many programs for Senior Citizens and children. I am proud to announce that I spearheaded a program titled Police and Clergy Alliance. The alliance is meant to build communications and transparency between the Police Department and our religious community. The hope is to bring our community closer together and foster a partnership. In addition, during my Certified Public Managers course, CPM, my Capstone project was the acquisition and implementation of Body Worn Cameras. I am happy to say that with the support of my Chief we have purchased this equipment and will be among the first in the County to implement them. As Staff Services Commander I handle more of the Administrative side of law enforcement. I am in charge of the management of time, supplies and other ancillary equipment. I am the Deputy Coordinator for Office of Emergency Management, OEM, for West Orange. I have recently been assigned to the Office of Professional Development. I will be responsible for Training, CLEA, and oversee grants. I look forward to this new chapter of my career. Show less

As the Commander of the Office of Professional Development I am responsible for several critical areas. I oversee the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, CALEA, which entails reviewing and updating Directives ensuring CALEA proofs are completed and that the agency is ready to be evaluated. Also we ensure that the agency complies with all standards set forth by CALEA.As OPD Commander I am in charge of training. This includes mandatory in-service training and outside training to improve officers/ supervisors skills. We have to revamp training programs to stay current in mandatory training. Document and track training to determine when certifications need to be updated. To save money I have also developed partnerships with outside agencies to assist us with training thus reducing costs.I am also charged with finding and submitting grants. I have worked closely with our grant writer to provide information such as departmental needs, department data needed to complete applications. In addition I have successfully completed and been awarded grants for our agencies.I still assist with some administrative functions due to my past knowledge in that area. My role made me the Fleet manager which had me overseeing our current fleet, equipment in vehicles including mobile vehicle recorders, MVRs, Automatic License Plate Readers, ALPR, and Mobile Data terminals, MDT. In addition, input on future vehicle needs. I also ensured payroll was completed weekly and completed annual budgets. The overseeing of ordering equipment and supply's. I also arranged the purchase of Body Armor including research on products and pricing. I also did extensive research on Body Worn Cameras, BWC.
