Provided workload distribution, mentoring of junior members, escalated customer support, and support of legacy instruments and interfaces (e.g. RS-232). In addition managed all projects the team was involved in including Automated Disaster Recovery Imaging, migration of chemical drawing software from individual desktops to leveraged license server model, migration of a small data center to virtual hosting in a corporate data center, and the development of virtualization technology to support scientific software which requires Windows XP past end of XP support.   Operating an independent consulting and software/systems development firm. Design and develop systems for laboratory data acquisition and analysis and creating custom instrumentation, using primarily Microsoft Excel and Access. Recent projects include developing software for specialized instruments such as Mechanical Test Machines, a Viscometer, and a Gas Chromatograph. Also two high-precision general purpose technical data acquisition systems, and several custom workbooks for the analysis and reporting of data collected from other instruments. Currently working on lower-cost versions of some of these applications based on the Arduino hardware platform interfaced to Excel. Show less
