As Health and Wellbeing Manager at Everton in the Community, the official charity of Everton Football Club, I was responsible for managing the charities multi- award winning health and wellbeing department. This department comprises a broad spectrum of diverse needs-led and community-focused public health programmes. This role saw me managing an eclectic staff team to ensure front line delivery is of the highest quality, inclusive and in line with strategic priorities and funding obligations. As part of this role I also took full operational lead on managing budgets, reports, marketing, monitoring, evaluation, project development, quality assurance and applying for sustainable funding. From a strategic view I was responsible for improving service, devising new ways of working, evidencing impact and partnership building. This role saw me disseminate the department’s innovative and pioneering methods at various national and European conferences. I also led a number of groundbreaking first team pre season tours alongside the club partnerships team to Africa, leading on community activations. This included club first tours to Kenya and Tanzania coordinating CSR community campaigns including coach education courses, guest University lectures and health promotion and screening programmes.
