  Restructured operations, resolved internal conflicts and managed company wide operations (two commercial divisions and a residential division) to ensure budgets and projections were being met in a manner that would insure the highest level of customer service and company profitability. In the first three years I cut middle management by 30%, shut down one commercial division and rebuilt it from the ground up. These improvements were instrumental in helping the company reach, for the first time in its 50 year history, the profit levels necessary to activate its profit sharing plan. I helped develop a larger customer base and focused on government contracts to help increase gross sales by 50%. I developed relationships, negotiated contracts and completed projects with The United States Department of the Interior, Bremerton Naval Facility, Bangor, Hanford Nuclear Facility, Burlington Northern Railroad, various ship yards and oil refineries in the Northwest.   Built and managed a competitive LTL Transportation, Warehousing, Trans-loading and Distribution Logistics Terminal serving the Puget Sound area in the Northwest. I negotiated contracts and built a working Distribution Hub from the ground up for use by national carriers in the United States and Canada who wanted to maintain a highly visible presence in the Northwest without the expense of re-engineering their operations to include a facility of their own. Directed operations for warehouse and distribution services to ensure the safe and secure storage of customer products, timely and accurate delivery of product to various Distribution Centers and end users within acceptable temperature ranges, DOT Compliance and safety. Directed operating strategies and procedures to meet or exceed budgets and projections in a manner that would ensure the highest level of customer service and company profitability. As Corporate Safety Officer I developed procedures and company safety policies that resulted in the successful completion of two DOT audits and one L & I audit over five years. Show less
