  I worked at Airmiles on their IT Service desk but was co-sourced by Allied Worldwide. The Service desk consisted of 6 technicians and we provided the first and second line user support of all the Airmiles IT systems for around 800 users. The role consisted of logging calls and then solving the issues that had been reported. The main operating systems we supported were ’98 and NT4, the network was run on a NT4 Domain and used Lotus Notes for Email and Database services. The kind of issues that we dealt with ranged from user advice, application errors to Infrastructure networking problems and any other issues that staff had with their PC’s. Show less

  At St Barnabas I worked directly for the Head of IT to provide all levels of network and pc support for around 70 people. I also had the responsibility for looking after the phone system and being the first point of contact for external contractors. This position required me to look after all the administration of user domain accounts and permissions in an Active Directory and Exchange environment and to constantly modify and upgrade the network. My position required me to manage all the IT resources within the company, this included sourcing and implementing new IT software and equipment. I gained many new skills including experience with Cisco Pix firewalls and UNIX RS/6000.

  I work in a department a small IT Department providing 1st,2nd & 3rd line support for 200+ users and the entire infrastructure across 3 sites around the country. I help run and maintain a 2012 Active Directory domain with 2 remote sites connected via WAN link. We run a mixed environment of physical and virtual servers using Hyper-V, where I am migrating to a fully virtualized environment in a failover cluster. I also have experience installing and setting up a SAN using ISCSI in a 3-2-1 (Host-Switch-San) environment. I administer the Exchange 2010 server ensuring as much uptime and availability as possible. I also administer the ISA 2006 server making configuration changes and ensuring the network is as secure as possible while continuing to provide functionality to users.All the servers are backed up using Symantec Backup Exec or Dell AppAssure, where we have the Exchange and SQL agents installed. We also use the Desktop & Laptop option which provides backup capabilities for the user’s machines.We run a SQL 2000 & 2008 servers where I need to ensure up time. I have experience with setting up DTS’s & creating SSIS packages, writing SQL queries & views and performance monitoring.We run a complete Windows 7 environment for our clients, deploying desktop images mainly through ImageX.
