    • Guthlaxton College

      Jun 2011 - May 2012
Project Manager for New Build and Refurbishments

The College employed me to project manage a new build for their new entrance/gateway. A 1950s build, Guthlaxton has transformed its fascia with a fascinating new reception area, conference/exhibition room, office and meeting rooms. Working in conjunction with Stimpson Walton Bond Architects and Steele & Bray Contractors, both of Northampton, together we have produced a work of art for the College to be proud of. Point of contact on behalf of the College, both from communication, budgetary and liaison between all parties and to negotiate colour, furniture and flooring with the College Business Manager (via budgetary constraints). • Kingfisher for Interiors

      Oct 2012 - now

Kingfisher for Interiors has been working on several smaller residential projects, creating moodboards and sample boards for clients to work from so that they can carry out works by themselves or via their own tradesmen/women. Employing an interior designer saves time, money AND MOST IMPORTANTLY all those design faux-pars that often cost alot to put right or you have to live with! Kingfisher for Interiors is a new company, based in Leicestershire, providing interior design support to predominantly the residential market and smaller commercial projects. The founder, Deb King, has worked in and around various aspects of design all her working life having worked in marketing and event management for some years. Having re-trained in Professional Interior Design, Deb is launching her new venture with great passion and enthusiasm. Been given the priviledge to work on a client's master bedroom. The spec was based on producing a mood board for them to work with and use their own trades, and to give advice as and when required. I had the blinds and cushions made, whilst sourcing products and colours for the client to expand upon. The outcome is starting to look fabulous - even if I say so myself!!
