  I took care of residents, showering, appointments, trips. I fixed their dinner. I did active treatment with them daily living skills. Took them to class on and off campus. Took to the taste of chicago, circus, dances, parties. When they had behaviors they had be restraint in a papoose. I had to do paper work, and chart on them. wash their clothing, they would help sometimes the ones that knew how. They also had to be taken on doctors appointments. We took them on walks around the campus. Sometimes they would escape we had to run after them and call the supervisor and the police. Sometimes you would get injured, and have to seek medical attention. Family and friends would visit sometimes, and at times some of them could go from house to house and visit staff or other residents. A few could catch the bus and go places not many. Show less

  News Paper Delivery Service

  I delivered the news paper 7 days a week. To people's home. I rally enjoyed that, I got to talk with a lot of the customers, and got to know them by name. They were very friendly. I got a lot of nice compliments firm them on how my deliver was. I would place everybody's new's paper where they wanted it. And if they had no preference it would always be at the door where they could reach it.

  I was a member of the chamber and I work at the summer fest, at the art show, selling refreshments, giving directions. The fruit of the vine booths. The Christmas walk, telling people that were coming into the homes about the decorations they had displayed.

  I went door-door with a hand held computer going to homes and apartments, asking people how many was in their household, if they were not home you mark it down on the computer and someone else would come back. also in apt. you would look at the name on the door bell see the names and ask if it was two bedroom and figure out how many might live there.

Taking residents on appointments, shopping for them if they could not or take them shopping!Cleaning the home, washing laundry, cooking. general everyday conversation. Playing games with them. Taking them out to eat, any everyday living still they could do as they once did.
