  Customer Order Fulfillment Planner (Co-op Position)

  • Used MAPICS browser along with Excel to assign available inventory levels to fulfill open customer orders for 3 distribution centers in Abbotsford B.C., Aurora Colorado, and Pomona, California.• Loads were created while being mindful of whether the maximum capacity of the transportation vehicle would be utilized.• Carriers from a pre-approved list were contacted to move the assigned orders from the distribution center to the customer, or a notice was made in the system if orders were for customer pick up (for DC reference).• If the pre-approved carriers did not have availability to move loads, other carriers were contacted and approval of rates from the Supply Chain Manager was necessary prior to assigning the order to the carrier.• In-charge of a special cross-dock project in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where inventory for specific orders were shipped to the cross-dock from IKO manufacturing plants and planned such that they were immediately assigned to carriers for shipping to customers upon arrival.   • In-charge of inventory and transportation planning for one of IKO’s biggest manufacturing plants in Hawkesbury ON.• Allocated Hawkesbury plant’s inventory to customer orders based on priority and secured trucks from pre-approved carriers to move the loads in order to deliver to the customer on-time.• Communicated with various departments (customer service, transportation, logistics) to ensure on-time delivery to customers.• Assisted with manager’s Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Project, and generated ideas regarding why Hawkesbury rarely utilized its shipping capacity.• Trained employee moving from Customer Service position to take over handling Hawkesbury plant.
