As part of a Siemens-funded academic-industry project in partnership with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), I've been contributing to the creation of an agile framework, incorporating AI technologies and solutions, to transform existing offshore wind turbine manufacturing system into an agile and sustainable system./Key Highlights/• Integrated artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to enable agility, including machine learning (ML)/deep learning (DL) models, open platform communication unified architecture (OPC UA), Tecnomatix plant/process simulation, virtual reality/augmented reality (XR), and NVIDIA Omniverse. • Established a solid methodology to develop digitalisation and automation solutions, including digital tightening system and manufacturing execution system (MES).• Developed and deployed optimisation solutions by incorporating customised collaborative robots (Cobots) as part of the proof-of-concept (POC) and based on solid business case analysis and return on investment (ROI).• Managed 12 simultaneous internal pilot projects to validate agile system design, ensuring alignment with project goals and milestones with system requirements.• Built a laboratory to support R&D processes and integrated system engineering best practices across manufacturing, enhancing the Technical Excellence (TEX) sub-organisation.• Mastered solution realisation by identifying best-fit alternative technologies complemented by customised databases, application programming interfaces (APIs), and codes/algorithms critical to the development of other solutions.• Established an R&D framework of industrial systems, processes, and knowledge-based activities across multidisciplinary collaborative projects and aligned with product lifecycle management (PLM) framework. I provided input to designers during product design process on manufacturability and contributed as one of the approvers for the final design of new products. I also identified the need and defined additional manufacturing processes and standards; accordingly, I modified and maintained layout, sequence of assembly, and reference documentation. Additionally, I monitored and provided advisory support to shopfloor process failure mode effects analysis (P-FMEA) and tooling processes to align with change management system, compliance framework, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) parameters in SAP ERP. /Key Highlights/• Served as a liaison among cross-functional departments to provide support services to various multidisciplinary teams.• Implemented innovative processes, methodologies, and procedures to meet product specifications and multidimensional requirements for turbine model D3, release R18 and R19.• Developed a change storyboard document to present new design and potential impacts on assembly process, which was established as a standard reference for new product introductions (NPIs) across all modules and within NPI department.• Served a pivotal part in creating smart solutions through a holistic approach to the impact on other functions and based on solid risk analysis, APQP, and P-FMEA at both operational and production levels.• Achieved a significant milestone by creating a framework for deliverables and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the industrial engineering department, which was adopted by stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency.• Bridged communication gaps between stakeholders by implementing a structured stakeholder management approach and coordinating knowledge-sharing sessions and expectation alignment meetings.
