    • Kenworth Truck Co.

      Jun 2023 - Aug 2023
      Advanced Manufacturing Intern

      • Created a tool for plant workers to power a valve for coolant fill into a new generator design. Power was supplied by a cordless battery via a new connection to the engine wiring harness. Designed circuitry of tool using knowledge of rectifier circuits.• Designed a 3-D printed battery adapter in Creo Parametric CAD software to connect a cordless Makita battery to the tool’s wiring. Learned how to operate industrial 3-D printers and correct part tolerancing. The connectors and wiring for the tool were chosen by contacting suppliers and comparing spec sheets.• Assisted in designing Engine Computer Unit harnesses through Modular XC and Capital Logic. Jan 2024 - Jun 2024

      • Developed autonomous walking capabilities for Dingo, an open-source quadruped robot from Monash University. Contributed to implementing a SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithm. Implemented a custom sensor package consisting of an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), LiDAR, gas sensors (CO2 and methane), and an RGBD camera. The robot aims to help first responders by inspecting hazardous structures at risk of collapse or chemical leaks.• Created motor control algorithms using Python and C++ via ROS (robot operating system) and simulated the robot's movements and sensors in the physics simulation environment Gazebo.• Constructed the robot through an open-source parts list, 3-D printing the structural components, hand-soldering the PCB circuit boards, and wiring the sensors and batteries. Show less • Radio Antenna Azimuth Control system: Designed & analyze the Antenna Azimuth's control system. Gained general understanding of positional control systems and a representation of a closed loop system due to its use of two separate potentiometers.• Power Electronics: Worked on, presented and discussed a flyback converter to industry professionals working for Analog Devices and Texas Instruments. Used LTspice to alter functionality of existing control circuit and converter to demonstrate functionality of an existing analog devices flyback converter. Subsequently, fielded questions from these industry professionals. • Electromagnetics: Created monopole and dipole antennas with electronic phase shifters. Generate a report detailing the lab results designing both a monopole and dipole antenna. The dipole was attached to a electronic phase shifter to create a phased array. Used Matlab to simulate the antenna's radiation patterns. Compared these results with physical measurements using a horn antenna and a network analyzer.• Mechatronics: Designed and integrated electromechanical components and systems using Arduino and C programming language. Integrated motor controllers, light sensors, microcontrollers, PID control theory, and actuators to create a line following robot which played Whack-A-Mole. Reached 2nd place in class competition with 21 moles hit in 3 minutes. Robot was able to detect, move, and hit a designated which mole via color sensors, PID control, and a state machine. Show less • Created autonomous Robot to play whack a mole. Used arduino mega to control a motorized platform that played whack a mole. This consisted of a self-coded PD controller allowing for line following. The robot chassis was built using laser cut wood and common lab hardware. The moles were found by using an rgb sensor and “wacked” through an additional motor assembly. Won 2nd place in course competition for most moles whacked.• Collaborated on final project by implementing a shared github repository and workspace in vscode. Practiced how to use various git actions. Show less

      • Developed a tool leveraging Copilot/ZebraAI and ChatGPT to identify trending issues, knowledge gaps among support engineers, and potential product improvements for recent multi-factor authentication support cases. Live demoed project and presented slide deck to senior management.• Engaged in a 3-week Microsoft AI Engineering Academy and Hackathon, collaborating in small teams to develop CaseCare, a tool using ZebraAI and ChatGPT for support case analysis. CaseCare assists customer support engineers by generating a "wellness" score based on customer sentiment in emails and other data, while also offering detailed reasoning and recommendations to improve the score for active cases.• Gained expertise in prompt engineering with large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and Azure AI Services through Python APIs.
