As much as the statistics are different, the various reasons attributed to the low numbers cut across similar factors. How can we then embrace opportunities in STEM and benchmark ourselves with the best? We discussed challenges in STEM that may hinder progression, Identified opportunities that women can embrace and shared our experiences from the different continents. We indeed are the change that we hope to see in our society. Paper Presentation - 2nd best student Institution of Engineers of Kenya May 2014 The paper highlighted on the reduction of power loss n the transmission network by conductor optimization. This if implemented on the Kenyan network would realize a significant saving on the transmitted power thereby ensuring a more reliable supply. The overall impact would be a significant reduction in the cost of power to the consumer.
