  I was approached to set up the legal department for the Omesti Group of Companies which I currently head, with three team members reporting to me. I handle a wide range of matters including:-(i) drafting and reviewing various agreements for the Group including agreements for the provision of various type of services (hardware purchase, software development, maintenance services, consultancy services etc), distributor agreements, reseller agreements, teaming agreements, shareholder agreements, share sale agreements, guarantee and indemnity agreements, partnership agreements, banking facility agreements; (ii) attending contract negotiation meetings with various customers from different sectors like Telecommunication, Government, Financial Services and Oil & Gas;(iii) advising on legal implications of transactions the Group is considering entering into and suggesting alternatives which are more feasible for the Group where applicable;(iv) conducting legal due diligence on companies that the Group is looking to acquire;(v) ensuring proper polices are developed within the Group in order to effectively manage legal and commercial risks;(vi) developing precedent agreements for the Group;(vii) conducting internal training for employees within the Group on legal related matters;(viii) dealing with all legal related issues for the Group including, assisting in litigious matters and liaising with external counsels as the main point of contact Show less
