  In the summer of 2020, I joined IIT Kharagpur to work with Prof. Sunita Mishra in the Department of Mining Engineering to work with her. Me being a first year student she first engaged me with the basics of a research internship along with helping me acquainted with the process of writing research papers. I, under her guidance wrote a review paper on "experimental techniques for high rate deformation and shock studies". After that, she included me in her project of "Further exploration of Split Hopkinson Pressure Bars (Kolsky Bars) for finding mechanical properties of metals and ceramics". We had some experimental data which were needed to be analyzed as well as get a graphical interpretation of it in the Simulink Model (MATLAB). Because of the pandemic, I had to complete the entire internship in virtual manner. Show less

  Worked virtually for 2 months with Shale Gas Research Group in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS under Dr Eswaran Padmanabhan and Dr Sayed Ammenuddin Irfan to study the Wettability of Reservoir Rocks and creating Machine Learning Model for its prediction.- Literature Reviews on "Wettability of Reservoir Rocks" and "Machine Learning inthe Oil and Gas Sector". - Developed two Machine Learning Wettability Prediction models, using Random Forest and Generalized Additive Model algorithms, compared the results with proper graph plots and other measuring scales using Python in Jupyter Notebook. Both the models have very reliable predictability (Dataset used is collected from the experiments in UTP Laboratories). - Started writing a Technical Paper on this project done during the internship period.   Scaling of Solvent Enhanced Oil Recovery Processes using Reservoir Simulation.- The internship began with a brief literature exploration and setup of software for reservoir simulation. - Developed a background about the Athabascan oil field and the oil and Gas exploration processes used in Alberta, Canada. - Developed an advanced understanding of solvent recovery processes through online courses provided by Computer Modelling Group.- Conducted Reservoir Simulations for Solvent-Assisted Gravity Drainage processes (SAGD) in Athabascan Bitumen reservoir models. - Developed skills in using the compositional reservoir simulator STARS provided by Computer Modeling Group Ltd (CMGL). - Focused on various solvents such as butane, propane, pentane and hexane and compared the results, in terms of production, for different solvent injections.- Expanding the research work by implementing combined multiple solvents in various arrangements in the simulator to compare and contrast the best model for recovery.
