      Master´s Thesis in Solar Thermal Energy: Design and study of the parameters and efficiency of a Conical Solar Concentrator according to the type of tracking.Tasks: Monitoring and analysing of differents parameters through which I was able to carried out the study of the performance according to the type of tracking.This experience was my first step within the field of solar power. It was given me the opportunity to work close with specialist engineers from the Brasilian University and to learn a great deal about solar energy and also to discover the nuances of another culture.       -Daily monitoring of the PV plants through different SCADAS. Data analysis and KPIs calculations (PR, availability) in order to ensure the sites are operating with optimum performance.-Detect and manage the different incidents that may have an impact on the daily running of the solar plants. Deal with the operators on a daily basis in order to follow up the evolution of any incidents with the aim of reducing the loss of production and business interruption. Incident impact calculations and reporting.-KPIs reconciliation. Monthly and Quarterly Reporting of these KPIs, and of the main incidents of the PV plants. Expected values calculations (from TDD and financial models).-EPC: following up Punch List status, equipment warranties, PAC, IAC, FAC calculations (Europe), Substantial and Final Completion Certificates (The USA), Technical Due Diligence analysis.-O&M: analysis of the preventive maintenance activities and O&M Reports in order to ensure whether the operator is complying with all the obligations set out in the contract. Following up on corrective maintenance. Spare parts management. Liquid Damages calculations for the non-compliance of the guaranteed PR or Availability. Meetings with the operators on a monthly basis. Site visit analysis.-Compiling and analysing all technical documentation required for PV plants in order to ensure that all the possible information related to the asset is available for the management of the project.-Asset pre-acquisition assessment in order to evaluate the status of the asset before the purchase, and to highlight any red flag that may have an impact on the revenues and management.-Specialised knowledge of USA, UK and Australian Solar Markets.-Organising and conducting meetings with clients to inform them of the status of the whole Portfolio.-Overall insight in to the management of Solar Assets, not only from a technical point of view, but also from a financial and legal perspective.       -Supervise and manage a team of engineers and 10 solar farms and wind farms in the NEM and WEM, with a combined capacity of 0.5GW.-Oversee the day-to-day performance of the portfolio, responding to emergencies, coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, supervising subcontractors, and/or overseeing the work of clients’ contractors to ensure all contracts are delivered as per the agreements. Seek performance enhancements to maximize revenues.-Develop project-specific management tools, including Performance Guarantees, Operating Plans, Reporting, Asset Registers, Preventive Maintenance trackers, and other quality management tools.-Manage the respective projects’ obligations under the National Electricity Rules, including dispatch management, reconciliation of market settlements, communication with AEMO/DNSPs, GPS, Generator Compliance Testing, 5.3.9 processes, NC notices, and all other essential compliance obligations.-Work closely with other bodies, e.g., the Australian Energy Regulator, Clean Energy Regulator, to maintain project regulatory compliance and manage project obligations.-Prepare and review Monthly, Quarterly, and RCA reports. Conduct constraint analyses to assess the impact on production.-Lead supervision of site-based activities and on-site contractors to foster a productive and safe working environment.-Provide oversight of the work of contractors, meeting regularly to discuss the ongoing performance and availability of the generators.-Manage and close out the EPC punch list to completion and defects and warranty claims. Manage DLP.-Conduct periodic site visits to assess the status and conditions of the projects.-Provide training to junior members of the team.-Prepare variations to the Asset Management agreements and lead the process.
