  As the Director of Team Focus, it is my responsibility to provide a year round program of support, encouragement and Godly values that foster the development of life skills in young men (ages 10-18) without a father figure in their lives, bridge the father gap and support the family structure. This is accomplished by weekly meetings, semi annual retreats, student engagement, a 4 - day leadership camp, raising volunteers and community sponsors, and by maintaing a consistent relationship with the student.   Program Manager of six schools (one feeder path)The Elementary component is a childhood literacy program with a curriculum specifically designed for 4th and 5th grade males. Students are provided annual subscriptions to Sports Illustrated for Kids, TIME for Kids and National Geographic for Kids magazines. This program engages 50 young men at each school with an objective of encouraging them to become habitual readers.The Middle School component is a character development and personal enrichment program with a curriculum specifically designed for 6th-8th grade males. Each week this program engages 45 young men with an objective of laying the foundation needed for the students to successfully matriculate through school and life. The purpose of this curriculum is to: prevent youth from resorting to acts of violence, coercion and/or abuse in order to dominate and control others; intervene in the academic and social lives of students demonstrating destructive behavior and help them build skills for success; rehabilitate those who have already begun to exhibit the effects of abuse and violence within their own interpersonal relationships; teach each young man critical life skills that will prove essential as they matriculate academically and professionally; and build skills around knowledge, ability, and self-efficacy.The High School component consists of a cutting-edge program with a curriculum specifically designed for 9th-12th grade males that encourages critical thinking and problem solving.
