      Project Engineer - IMI Norgren

Part of the engineering team i spent most of my time building automated programs as well as support with NPD testing and operational improvements.- I built two fully-functional computer-controlled programs to automate 1) an existing calibration process on the production line and 2) a time-consuming accuracy test for NPD testing. Particularly proud of this accomplishment because i taught myself to program using LabView. Also a very fun job because I got to spend many hours a day geeking out on the computer and in the lab.- Conducted performance and characteristic tests on a new product to verify its ability to meet technical specification and launch targets.- Implemented basic lean principles of 5S in the office and lab spaces and executed auditing across the manufacturing site. I also gained firsthand experience at managing change and push-back from employees who were not familiar with these processes. Show less

Drove a pilot project aimed at reducing supplier costs during inspection testing. The pilot program was kicked off with a key customer and was further used with other customers as a result of the success.iii. Managed a project aimed at improving the manufacturing planning process and improving on-time delivery by utilising ‘demand planning’ to a more accurate degree. Show less

    • Energy Systems Catapult

      May 2019 - Oct 2024

I was responsible for leading the commercial team to develop proposals and secure new revenue and projects that related to home decarbonisation in the UK. Some large & key programmes I was responsible for were DESNZ’s Homes for Net Zero and Inclusive Energy Solutions programmes and a Warm Home Prescription trial with Scottish Power. Core to ESC’s Home proposition was our Living Lab, a 2,000+ cohort of UK homes across the UK, set up to support testing and scale up of low carbon tech and heating. We worked with Government and private sector to design & kick off trials in our Living Lab. Show less Within the international team at the Catapult, I spent my time developing bespoke client proposals for projects & programs between the UK and different countries, working closely with subject matter experts at ESC and organisations overseas. The nature of the role meant i had the privilege to learn, discuss and develop proposals about so many aspects of the energy system and transition: hydrogen, energy flexibility and DSR, micro-grids, community energy & smart local energy systems, EVs and V2X, offshore windThis was a varied role that involved collaboration with many countries, organisations in research, industry and Government. Some of my memorable moments:- International programmes between UK and South East Asia to support energy tech and low carbon startups.- European R&D funding proposals across multiple countries & disciplines.- Securing new projects in research & innovation on hydrogen between the UK and South Africa and buildings decarbonisation between UK and Singapore.
