  Dancing and the Arts have always been my passion. I took my first Dancing Step at the age of 3 and continued to dance in various schools throughout my learning years. After leaving school I attended Art College to train in Display and Exhibition Design. I qualified in both Dance and Design when I was 22 and already had a very successful Dance School in Surrey teaching students I.S.T.D Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre Dance and Tap from Pre-Primary to Advanced levels. Plus U.T.D. Dance Medals and a Performance every 3 years between syllabus exams.I also taught Aerobics and Jazz Dance daily in and around London at many studios including Danceworks, Pineapple, Flames, Dragons and Bojangles to name just a few - great experiences and memories.My teaching career now spans over 3 decades and I am still enjoying the experience and still learning. Each year brings new challenges and new things to learn and a host of new young smiling faces! Show less

  Since moving to Somerset in 2004 with my 3 boys I have been teaching students Modern Dance in schools in the Cheddar Valley. My Dance Company runs after school clubs for students to attend. Lessons are structured with my core values of developing students as a whole - not just improving them physically. Students are able to express themselves through music and movement in a fun, friendly atmosphere. Each year all students develop greater flexibility, musicality, confidence and many new friends - along with learning choreographed routines for our performances - with a huge emphasis on smiling. Learning in any capacity has to be fun.My aim is to help students grow as confidant individuals and enjoy their dancing without the pressure of exams. We work on routines to new and old popular music and create a night of memories, smiles and celebration. We have a local show this Summer with a bigger performance at Princess Theatre scheduled for next year.All my classes are inclusive for children with challenges and disabilities, who also benefit greatly from this type of freedom of expression. My exclusive class is called Smileability and is a project I am currently working on. This concept was originally developed for Emily Fox - a lovely young lady with Down Syndrome. I taught Emily for many years and she became quite a star in our shows.Feet & Beat Dance Fitness - An adult danced based class - I've been teaching this fun dance fitness class since 2005. Classes currently in Westbury and Wells, CentreSpace. Show less
