  Santaland Experience Associate

  A seasonal job, for the month of December I work as a Christmas Elf at Macy’s Santaland in Herald Square. I helped crowd control large groups of visitors while staying in character, maintained a safe and clean environment, and organized and photographed family portraits which were available for purchase. This job is an on-your-feet customer relations job as well as an acting one, and it trained me to stay on task and genuinely cheerful in the face of demanding and stressful situations.

  Assistant Teacher

  I had an internship with Reach the World in partnership with Citizen Schools. I worked as an Assistant Teacher once a week and taught the students about a college student’s experiences of studying abroad in Japan. I created lesson plans based off study abroad student’s journal entries, coordinating these plans between the Citizen Schools’ teacher and the requirements of the Reach the World program. I designed interactive lessons and made them age appropriate for 6th graders, managed rowdy students, organized and timed Skype sessions with the student in Japan, problem solved when lesson plans were not conveying information to the students well, and updated my supervisors about the progress in the classroom.   Learning Through Art Artist's Assistant

  A part time position through the Guggenheim's Learning Through Art program. I assist a teaching artist in a public school class room in New York City on a weekly basis, where we teach elementary school children different art techniques. I took professional photographs of the students' artwork to be published in the annual Year With Children book published by the Guggenheim Museum. I aided the students and the teaching artist in preparing for the annual Year With Children exhibition at the Guggenheim May 1st- June 17th, 2015. In addition to this program, I also participated in their Tour Training Course for elementary school groups. This course prepared me to give teaching tours to elementary level school groups.
