  During my 17 year tenure at Philadelphia Insurance Companies, I had many roles. 2006-2008- I served as Vice President of Underwriting Services - with a staff of 25, we did product development, where we wrote the Commercial and Specialty lines forms for all new products. I also handled reinsurance negotiations and pricing of our $92M Property and Casualty treaties. I also reviewed the reinsurance contracts to make sure the terms were favorable.   I started from scratch a Human Services (not affiliated with human resources in any way) commercial underwriting department at Harleysville/Nationwide insurance. We wrote programs for those in need such as homeless shelters, soup kitchens, etc. We also wrote programs for Intellectually disabled clients, those with persistent mental health needs, drug & alcohol programs, etc. We had a very broad appetite. We grew 33% year over year. It went from 0 to $40M during my tenure and was the most profitable niche in the company. We had an awesome team of 11 and wrote in 32 states. Show less
