  Directed all school district library media centers, state regional media services, television productions, professional library, technology center, printing and publications center and communications services for internal and external audiences including the media. Administered state and federal funds for textbooks and library materials to all parochial, private and public schools. Served on the cabinets of three school district superintendents.   Appointed to serve as the top AARP volunteer in Louisiana, representing 475,000 members in the state. Volunteer service includes leadership of the AARP Louisiana Executive Council and working with the state staff to serve a social mission on behalf of persons aged 50 and above. Service includes advocating with elected officials on issues of importance to our membership -- health, economic security, livable communities and quality of life. Services of the State President include presentations in the community, writing letters to editors, and interviews with the media.
