      Student secretary responsibilities included: answering phone calls, copying, filing, and transporting inter-departmental documents. Laboratory Assistant responsibilities included: setting up Fire Prevention, Human Factors, and Industrial Hygiene I and II labs, as well as clean up of said labs, calibration of equipment, trusted to solely supervise other students conducting make-up labs, assisted in streamlining current lab protocols and lessons. Responsibilities of the ASSE President were: communicating with advisors, establishing meeting times, liaison to student government, networking with local and national chapters and businesses, encouraging new memberships, pursuing avenues for revenue, scheduling speakers for student meetings, and leading a team of fellow officers to accomplish set goals. I developed deeper business relationships for the company by interfacing with contractor employees working on construction and installation projects. I increased the involvement of production employees and upper management by participation in: monthly Safety Committee meetings at all three Pennsylvania facilities; behavioral-based safety (BBS) system, through monthly steering committee meetings and participation in the observation process; and monthly safety audits of production and lab areas. I collaboratively created and implemented solutions to identified hazards from the Top 10 safety action item list generated in aforementioned safety committee meetings. I established Lockout/Tagout procedures for new and existing facility equipment. I created a better understanding of impacts on occupational safety and health by administering noise surveys of production areas, Hazard Communication training for new hires, and Contractor Safety training. I wrote, updated, and/or implemented: policies relevant to company occupational safety and environmental health such as, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, and Hazard Communication; standard operating procedures for company equipment; and weekly Tool Box Talks addressing possible issues or incidents specifically involving Herr & Sacco, Inc., annually required subjects, and information requested by employees. I led monthly Safety Committee meetings and resolved or assigned employees to aid in the resolution of those issues presented in said meetings. I scheduled training, physicals, and other third party services for employee occupational health. I also ensured employees were provided a healthy work environment by performing industrial hygiene tasks such as collection of sound level readings, noise surveys, and respirator fit tests.
