  The Technical Section Leader shall ensure that all mechanical machinery and electrical equipment,including cranes, onboard are operated properlyThe Technical Section Leader’s overall responsibilities are, but are not necessarily limited to, thefollowing: Ensure that all personnel under his supervision possess the necessary qualification andexperience to properly carry out the work assigned to them from a professional as well as asafety point of view. Ensure that all mechanical machinery and electrical equipment, including cranes, onboardare operated properly. Ensure that all maintenance and repairs, both planned and unplanned, are properlyorganized and executed in a professional manner and to a high standard. Ensure that he is familiar with the drilling unit, the hull and the structure including allrelevant systems onboard. Ensure that he is familiar with all governmental and classification society rules andregulations applicable to his area of responsibility. Responsible for the general safety training of personnel within his area of responsibility. Promote on-the-job training. Repair of drilling equipment as required. Ensure that the Machinery and Maintenance Section at all times has the necessary suppliesand spare parts for operation and maintenance of all equipment on board. At all times, follow Ocean Rig maintenance policy. Ensure that all maintenance records are properly prepared, filed and kept. Maintain the filing system onboard for certificates, drawings and manuals. Is on board overall responsible for the management of the Maintenance ManagementSystem & criticality analysis. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness throughout his area of responsibility. Ensure that all established reporting procedures and routines are followed and that all paperwork are handled timely and correctly. Participate in safety meetings and safety drills held on board.
