In addition to this I assisted the Chief Resident Engineer and Senior Resident Engineer for Measurement in assessing the Delay and Disruption claims related to Archaeology, Delayed Possession of Site and Clause 12 "Unforeseen" Ground Conditions. Show less The Glen O'Downs Road Improvement Scheme was 6 km of dual carriageway that incorporated the online improvement and widening of the existing N11 through an area of environmental significance incorporating the construction of with 2 overbridges and a number of retaining walls. It also involved the intricate relocation of two watermains supplying Dublin City.I worked in the Measurement and Structures departments and during my rotation in the Measurement Department I evaluated the Contractors monthly progress and daywork claims for structures (bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, piling), earthworks, drainage and watermains and verified the account with Senior Resident Engineer Measurement and the Chief Resident Engineer. As part of the Structures team I assisted with in the construction supervision of two bridges, multiple retaining walls and drainage culverts. As a member of the Project Management Team for the Civil Infrastructure Group I was was responsible for the preparation of Technical Specifications and Tender and Contract documentation, Tender Review and award, Contract Estimates, Client and Contractor liaison and Superintendent Services. Clients included - VicUrban, Department of Justice, Department of Infrastructure, VicTrack and Melbourne Airport. My significant projects during this time were:Dynon Port Rail Project | Melbourne, Department of Infrastructure | A$120 m January 2006 – September 2006This design and build contract involved replacing a section of a main arterial road in Melbourne (Footscray Road) with a bridge structure to allow uninterrupted rail access into Melbourne Port. I assisted the senior project manager with the preparation of technical specification. In addition, I was responsible for developing and updating the proposed construction program. This program was used to identify risks to the client, and highlight hold points and time constraints for the tender documents.Pavement Remedial Works | Melbourne, Department of Justice | A$3.2 mMarch 2005 – January 2006 Due to rutting at its camera sites the Department of Justice required a stiffer pavement layer be placed at its speed camera sites to ensure sensors operated correctly. This was the first time that the DOJ had administered its own pavement contract. As Project Manager, I was responsible for determining the extent of pavement rehabilitation, preparing the contract documentation for the 3 pilot sites and subsequent 60 sites around Melbourne City and performing the duties of Superintendent’s Representative. This project was delivered on time and below budget. Oct 2008 - Jan 2015

The network of state controlled roads on the Sunshine Coast District was badly affected by the natural disaster events of 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. The events resulted in damage at more than 105 sites on 26 roads throughout the region, including 3 bridges. Aurecon was commissioned to provide management of the A$262 million Transport Network Reconstruction Programme to rebuild the damaged roads and bridges in the North Coast District. The commission included programme and project management, funding and financial management, management of a pool of 10 design consultants, management of tender and procurement of 11 construction contracts and contract administration across several forms of construction contract. This series of projects required responsiveness and strong collaboration in order to implement collective action and minimise disruption to impacted motorists and communities. I assisted with the procurement and was responsible for the Contract Administration of 2 Packages. RoadTek PICR (A$22 m) – This included the rehabilitation of pavements and slopes failures at the 25 sites across 5 roads in the North Coast Region. Solutions included soil nailing, gabion, mass block wall and reinforced earth. This was a Price Incentive Cost Reimbursable Contract (PICR). Sites ranged in length from 20 m to 200 m and majority of these were adjacent to live traffic. Grigor Bridge (A$10 m) – The construction of a new 3 span concrete bridge with over the Mary River and demolition of the existing timber bridge was delivered under a Road Performance Contract. This bridge required construction to be carried out within a specific timeframe due to stringent environmental constraints relating to the breeding seasons of a number of endangered species found in the river. The bridge’s remote location also posed a series challenges for the transport of materials and large plant. Show less Granted heritage status in 2001, the 85 year-old Church Street Bridge was in need of rehabilitation works to ensure its ongoing safety to the public and preserve its historical significance. I was seconded into the Bridge Operations Team to administer the duties of the Superintendent’s Representative for the final contract to complete the restoration of the three-pinned arch bridge over the Yarra River and Monash Freeway. The contract included concrete patch and crack repairs, the replacement of badly corroded reinforcement and the application of an anti-carbonation coating. My duties included: • Assessment of monthly progress claims, variations and EOTs.• Management of the overall project budget (apply for additional funding and Contract uplifts).• Developed the terms and conditions of the Buyout in consultation with VicRoads Contract Services. • Managed the increase in concrete patch repairs quantities to remain within overall TEC and finish within the agreed Buyout date for Practical Completion. Show less This project involved a 61 km upgrade and realignment of the Bruce Highway, including a bypass of Gympie, and is one of Queensland's highest priority road projects. It is designed to meet strategic transport needs of the Gympie Region into the future. Section B entails 12 km of freeway from Sankeys Road to Traveston Road that has a construction priority due to safety and traffic needs.I was responsible for:• Preparing contract documentation for Contracts 1 and 2, the biggest of the seven construction contracts, as well as the minor works contracts for water main relocation and intersection upgrades (TMR schedule of rates contracts).• Organisation of senior staff to prepare the documents and carry out independent verifications.• Managing the documents to respond to the continual scope changes.• Migrating documents into new TMR format.During subsequent construction, these documents proved to be of high standard and were reliable and robust during construction.
