Activities and Societies: Was an active member of UCC Badminton Club for 2 years, assisting in setting up courts and equipment for beginners in my second year. I was also involved with UCC Rowing Club for a shorter period of time. The Physiology degree I undertook help me gain a deep knowledge of various systems of the human body. As such, I gained an integrated, holistic view of the human body. During this degree, I gained a particular interest in the microbiome of the gut, and its effects on the central nervous and the immune systems.

      2018 - 2019
Master of Science - MS Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology 2:1

Activities and Societies: Webmaster for the Environmental Society, where I was involved in organising a number of society events and furthering the ideas of principles of environmental sustainability. This role also gave me experience in managing mailing lists through Google Groups and poster design via Canva. On a different note, with respect to the 2019 Student Entrepreneur Awards, our group was shortlisted for our business plan revolving a model of biodegradable plastics. This was a 12-month degree, split into a initial taught lectures section, followed by a 6-month long research project. I gained experience in a number of molecular cloning techniques, including PCR, plasmid purification, and transformations. I also gained experience in basic laboratory techniques such as autoclaving, media preparation, and plate streaking. Furthermore, I was able to develop bioinformatic and programming skills, through R software and Linux command line manipulations.
