      Weed spraying

I worked under contract from the county and forestry service to spray weeds in Wyoming. In this job, I learned how to proficiently saddle two horses for work. We saddled a riding horse and one pack horse so that we could carry the weed pesticide/chemical that we needed to spray weeds up in the mountains. Working with animals such as dogs and horses was very useful and important in this job. I learned how to navigate and ride through rough thick brush, trees, and mountains. I also learned to understand and use maps to get around while traveling on trails through the mountainous terrain of Wyoming. And lastly, I learned how to identify different kinds of species of weeds and to spray specific kinds such as Canadian and Russian thistle. I worked this Job for about a month and would really love to do it again this next year. Show less
