  Design and development of several ILOG Optimization products (Scheduler, PSched, Fab Power Ops, Plant Power Ops)I implemented a key feature of ILOG Plant Power Ops: the user can move activities around, and the program takes care of as many constraints as possible to avoid breaking the solution.In a few weeks, I had to take ownership of the whole engine of ILOG Fab Power Ops. My contribution was decisive in the success of the first FPO implementation, at IBM's East Fishkill plant, leading to IBM marketing ILOG Fab Power Ops to its customers.I wholly designed a Microsoft Project add-on that allows the user to specify the skills provided by the resources, and needed by the activities. The add-on then both assigns resources to tasks and schedules those tasks, while optimizing several performance indicators. Show less

  As their manager, I am serving the fully distributed team of 10+ Scientists and Software Engineers that produce IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimizer, the #1 mathematical programming solver for linear programming, mixed integer programming, and quadratic programming.The context is that of developers scattered across Europe and the US, a few hundred kilometers away from each other. Of intense competitive pressure and double digit performance improvements on the same hardware every six months. Of 1 million lines of C and as much of C++, Java, Python, C#, ported on a dozen platforms from regular desktops to mainframesFrom a project management perspective, my tasks include defining the list of features for each release, writing down the detailed requirements, validating the test plans, delivering the software on all the platforms, etc.I have also administrative and personnel responsibilities: hiring, evaluation and compensation, career development, day-to-day administrative handling, etc.- Shipped four releases, all within expected timing, scope and resources- In 3 years, performance increased by x2.5 on hard models.- CPLEX regained its leadership position on public benchmarks- Doubled QA efficiency thanks to continuous builds and tests.
