      Enrichment Program Staff

My role at the Boys and Girls Club in Augusta began as a mentor in 2013 at Jamestown Elementary (20 hrs/week) before I became a member of the enrichment program staff. I provided daily programs, services, and activities that were consistent with the organization’s youth development mission and goals for club members. Some of these programs included flag football and basketball, which I coached for boys ages 6-11 years old, and lesson plans that focused on teamwork, focus, and communication. In addition, I incorporated healthy living and active learning in every part of the club experience, emphasizing good nutrition, regular physical activity, and other healthy habits. In January 2014, I received the employee of the month award. It was my experiences at the Boys and Girls Club that ignited my passion for mentoring young people. Show less

To accomplish these goals, I provided coaching services to children and teenagers, set objectives for my mentees to establish expectations for their achievements, assessed each child’s situation to identify problems, and helped each student improve his/her academic performance. In addition, I taught my students coping tools to help them deal with stress, depression, anxiety, and anger. Show less

    • When Men Open Up

      Jun 2018 - now
      Co Host

When Men Open Up is a show created to address issues that men often struggle with in silence. Providing a biblical context to personal issues, this show challenges societal norms that have damaged the psyche and personhood of today’s man. Because society has painted an incomplete picture of manhood and masculinity, many men struggle with issues such as: rejection, identity, fatherhood, etc. Providing a contrast to many of today’s societal beliefs, The When Men Open Up podcast will explore these subjects and provide commentary that is applicable and scripturally integral. The Bible declares, “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend” (Proverbs 27:17, NKJV).The When Men Open Podcast is not exclusive to an all-male audience; however, our primary endeavor is to be a go to resource for men looking for encouragement, strengthening, and sharpening. We believe that when men come into right position; families and communities flourish. We look forward to having you join the discussion. Show less
