  I work in the new Events department at Canada Olympic Park, responsible for all large and special events at the site, which includes festivals, concerts, 5k runs and large ski and snowboard competitions.Central to WinSport's Winter Sport Institute, Canada Olympic Park is the hub-facility in the group of training and competition venues. As the premiere site of the XV Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, the venue is perhaps the most visible legacy of the 1988 Games to visitors and Calgary alike - truly a one-of-a-kind attraction. I currently assist the Special Events Manager to co-ordinate, handle and run all large events that come to the park. This includes negotiating rental fees, booking external risk services, creating seating plans, coordinating with other departments onsite, and being the point of contact liaising with Ticketmaster.   I am responsible for the event management of concerts, tradeshows and attractions at the Calgary Stampede. This involves working with clients from when they first sign their contracts straight through to show day, communicating with various different departments to ensure a successful event is had.

  I look after the sales and management of all events onsite that take place at WinSport's Canada Olympic Park and offsite through our external WinSport Catering services. Alongside a team of coordinators who directly report to myself we ensure all events booked onsite and offsite are a success for both the client and WinSport. Responsibilities:-Sell, manage and execute a variety of events, ranging from 10-5000 attendees, from corporate meetings to weddings to international sporting events to concerts.Promote WinSport Arena and WinSport Amphitheatre as prime venues for live entertainment.Manage all event details including production schedules, rigging, food & beverage requirements, room set up, entertainment, audio visual, décor, transportation & guest safetyBuilding large event proposals and artist offers, and assisting NSO's, PSO's and stakeholders in bids for a variety of different events, from concerts to international sporting events. Recent successful bids include the 2021 Canadian Ringette Championships, 2020 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League and the 2023 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships.Assigning sales, event preparation & on-site coordination to my team of Event Coordinators, supervising their progress and workload to ensure each event’s successResponsible for successfully implementing the use of Ungerboeck as WinSport's new calendar management system. Within 3 months of installation the Sales & Events team had fully swapped over from our original system. Plan and create WinSport promoted events. Recent projects include Haunted Mini Golf, Party In The Park 2 day music festival and the 2018 Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling Humpty's Champions Cup.Active participant in various business resumption plans to ensure WinSport safely reopened its doors to events amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic.
