      Appointed as the 43rd Chief Justice and the 1st female Chief Justice of the Republic on 17th May, 2011. The Chief Justice, as the Head of the Judiciary, is vested with the overall control of judicial administration and within the Supreme Court he holds the final authority in case allocation, Court management and general court administration. Prior to the appointment as the Chief Justice, had been functioning in the capacity of Acting Chief Justice for well over 11 occasions since February 2004.Was politically victimized and unconstitutionally impeached on 13th January, 2013.Resumed duties following a Presidential Order on 28th January 2015 and retired on 29th January 2015.
