      Supervised and implemented the transition of the Regiment from Windows XP to Windows 7 for over 500 users. Supervise all user assistance and work requests for over 1500 computer assets and users at locations across the base. Implemented electronic log and tracking for user assistance requests to ensure contact and follow-up for all network problems. Improved user contact and resolution of service issues.Personally inspect and account for all network assets in the regiment, and evaluate and approve all purchase requests for new network equipment. Inspect and maintain the security of the data network. This includes IT training for all 1200 personnel with computer access and clearances from Secret through Top Secret SCI, updating and maintaining Command IT policies, and monthly inspections of existing security measures and procedures.Update and provide software solutions such as Adobe Professional, for different job requirements throughout the organization. Show less Managed over 60 technical specialists operating and maintaining data servers, VOIP, and multiplexing channels. Responsible for implementing and supervising technical training for all personnel under my command. Created annual training plan for multiple technical specialties. The plan taught individual technical skills such as Cisco switch and router programming for Data Marines and VOIP training for Switching Marines. The progression moved to more complex networks, and integrating the different communication specialties. The result was integrated technical specialties and ensure all Marines were capable of establishing a communication network of telephone and PC services over satellite and terrestrial transmissions for over 2,000 Marines in CONUS. Network was designed to provide internet access that would push logistics tracking tools to subordinate commands.Responsible for identifying and problem solving system and process issues, e.g. minimum maintenance required to achieve a communications mission, with recommendations to management. Managed servers that provided access to all division training exercise networks. Responsible for ensuring maintenance and proper patching for NIPR and SIPR servers. Maintained and supervised operation of communication architecture that provided access to phone and data services to units conducting field training. Maintained custody and ensured maintenance of over $20 million of communications equipment. Personally inspected and accounted for over 1200 different communications assets and component parts. This included internet protocol firewalls such as the Deployed Integrated Security Device, tactical network architecture such as the Data Distribution System-Modular, Cisco Call Manager-enabled devices, Cisco routers and switches, and personal computers for users.
