I worked with a highly dynamic and responsive team to develop a new degree that would supersede and improve upon the Bachelor of Environments (my previous role was Director of the Bachelor of Environments). The new Bachelor of Design gave students more hands on technical and theoretical skills in their chosen majors, including double majors. Working across the three Faculties of Architecture Building and Planning; Victorian College of the Arts and the Faculty of Science, we established the degree that now includes 12 majors and is the most sought after Design degree in Australia. The degree was an instant success and now provides an excellent platform for the workplace, Masters degrees or Higher Research Degrees. It now includes 3000 students working and studying in a range of interdisciplinary fields that is internationally renowned. Daha az göster

Building an integrated system for Australian bushfire prevention

Building an integrated system for Australian bushfire prevention was and ARCL Linkage funded project led by Dr Janet Stanley, with Jason Thompson and Professor James Ogloff.Developed a comprehensive approach to prevent arson. Bushfires are a serious issue in Australia, made worse by climate change; since most of these fires are started by people, it is important to prevent arson. Building on previous work, this project improved community responses, and built a model to predict risk and improve data sharing. The outcome is an all-risks approach to arson prevention and community engagement. This reduces the incidence of arson in Australia, and is also useful overseas. Daha az göster
