  Student Internship

  I participated in observation and shadowing at the internationally-renowned Fakeeh University Hospital (FUH)—a hospital and medical university centre at the forefront of biotechnology in the region.The internship consisted of shadowing medical professionals and technologists. With a particular focus on radiology, I established a comprehensive understanding of medical instruments and technology in the Emergency Department and Radiology Department. Additionally, I was guided through the inner technology of Ambulances by ED professionals, being taught the priority-guided engineering in Emergency Transport vehicles. FUH's pioneering and leadership in biotechnology in the ME region advanced my understanding of the industry's rapid progress. FUH, with their emphasis in medical education, delivers several lectures and educational seminars discussing issues at the forefront of medicine and medical technology. I was fortunate to have attended and actively participated in a seminar regarding VTE Prophylaxis: the solutions to an overlooked and prevalent issue plaguing the medical and medical technology fields.FUH's regional renown in biotechnological application, innovation and exploration made this a vastly enriching experience.   Instilt Educate

  Curriculum Developer

  I work in developing the Curriculum cohort of the Academics Team at Instilt Educate. My role involves developing, modifying and enhancing educational materials and study resources. These are utilised during Instilt lessons and tutor sessions, as well as supporting children's education outside the classroom. In the curriculum cohort, our role is to curate an academically competitive curriculum that is able to support children's education and prepare them for both the academic and the real world. By collaborating with a range of educational and charity organisations, the cohort is able to create world-class and world-ready, holistic lessons.Additionally, all Instilt members hold the role of tutors, in which we prepare and deliver lessons to classes consisting of up to 40 children. These lessons exploit a multi-platform learning design, occurring on a weekly basis. Instilt Educate is a non-profit organisation that aims to level the playing field for underprivileged children, by providing free, high-quality education delivered by experienced tutors. With affiliation to over 10 schools across underprivileged countries, Instilt Educate is a rapidly-growing organisation that impacts the journeys of over 2800 students (and counting). Show less

  Kaizen Paint

  Student Internship

  I spent a week observing and participating at the Kaizen Paint (ME) headquarters and two of their world-class factory/testing facilities.The internship consisted of observation and participation in management and marketing in the company's regional headquarters, where I learnt about the automotive and decorative paint industries through a variety of company presentations and reference materials. In addition, I interacted with and learnt under marketing and department leaders and representatives. Marketing, collaborating, and working with people were amongst the myriad of skills I developed in this stage of the internship.Subsequent to this was my experience in the exceptional factories and production sites, where I worked extensively in the testing and research facilities. Here, I grew my familiarity with a range of chemical tests and methodologies used for quality assurance. Additionally, I expanded my understanding of manufacturing and production sequences for decorative and automotive paints, including innovating methods such as electropainting/electrodeposition and cathode protection that combat corrosion. Corrosive prevention was a focus during this internship.Kaizen Paint resides at the forefront of the paint and protective coatings industry in the entire MENA region. Born from the Japanese Kansai Paint Group, technology and innovation has always been intertwined with the company's diverse range of solutions and services. Show less
