  As the country manager of a start-up branch in Hong Kong jointly owned by local investors and the Australian head-office, my key objective and success was to introduce and expand the userbase of an alternative virtual currency of payment within the b2b space, establish the business and handover to local operations within two years.Being a start-up, objectives involved handling many aspects of the business including managing financial reporting to the head office in Australia; strategic and network development to boost local awareness; training and motivating a sales team; managing marketing in-house and working with PR partners for increased exposure in local Chinese press; business development and sales (cold calling and meetings); overseeing the print production of the printed directory and bi-lingual magazine; designing and releasing of the first bi-lingual online directory, which included being the UX lead while working with contracted engineers. It was released successfully.During this time of aggressive growth and PR awareness under my management, Bartercard Hong Kong won the award in the ANZ Business Awards in the Business Innovation category in 2000.
