The Eukaryotic Pathogen Database Resource (EuPathDB.org) is an extensive on-line bioinformatics platform, consisting of numerous databases, that is heavily used by the global scientific research community. This project has been continuously supported by various US-based and international agencies (NIH, the Wellcome Trust, the Gates Fdn, etc) for more than 15 years. >19K unique users (from >100 countries) depend on this resource on a daily basis for both genomic information and complex data-mining, expediting discovery research including therapeutics and diagnostic development. As Director of Scientific Outreach & Education I am responsible for overseeing the entire global Outreach team, and coordinating all aspects of customer support and education. This includes communication with EuPathDB client audiences through scientific presentations & publications, coordinating help-desk activities and user-comments drives at domestic and international meetings, organizing workshops, webinars and tutorials, maintaining an active social media presence, developing promotional materials, interfacing with user groups, and identifying & tracking new datasets. I also work in close coordination with annotation & curation staff, data loading teams, data-type developers, and the user interface group. In addition, I work closely with the Senior EuPathDB Project Manager and all Principal Investigators associated with the project to set short- and long-term priorities, communicate goals and vision to the project staff, and develop new sources of funding.
