After 20 years of delivering innovative solutions across very complex intelligence systems-to-weapons systems (meaning getting huge amounts of data from space into weapons faster, better, smarter and cheaper) and building a great new business inside Lockheed Martin, I was asked to build a strategy for my overall Division to help expand our business opportunities. I took my approach, some internal investment, some strategic thinking and an ample amount of persistence to help us win re-competes worth $250 million using new approaches and enter new customer domains. It wasn’t always about what our customers wanted; they are pretty good at telling you that in requests for proposals. It’s about what’s possible for them to get and how to get them excited about using our company to deliver it. In this role I was fortunate to learn how to do that for large programs and how to motivate others in the company to think, act and feel that way as well. Show less Senior Program Manager responsible for $30M contract providing system engineering and imagery analysis services to Intelligence Community programs, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and NASA. I managed several programs related to the systems integration of National Technical Means with operational intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and weapon systems. Some customers included Intelligence Community programs, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, Navy DCGS, Air Force DCGS, Extended Tether Program, Tomahawk Mission Planning, JASSM, JDAM, and JSOW programs. Efforts included all aspects of customer support, contract and financial management and functional management including staffing, training, employee development and retention. I led the development an Advanced Integrated Architecture Capability that provides the ability to integrate architecture products from multiple tools into HTML views that significantly improved the communication of complex multi-segmented systems. My team provided an Integrated Kill Chain capability to the US Navy that provides executives the ability to easily identify capability gaps across multiple platforms and effectively communicate funding priorities and their relationship to closing operational Navy mission scenarios. I led the development of System Activity Models that provided customers with the ability to model system performance and identify data processing bottlenecks, network performance issues and personnel inefficiencies. Director New Product Development

I spent several years building and marketing a commercial application ecosystem from within a $1B federal defense engineering services company. I worked closely with executive management, including the VP's of business development, research and development, business operations, and the COO and CEO, to: (1) acquire internal investment; (2) develop a strategy to move from a services-only company to a product/platform company; (3) build a team of top notch expertise; (4) develop a concept for complex modeling-as-a-service and ‘productized' services; (5) validate the concept in the marketplace; (6) build an application ecosystem platform to deploy products; (7) build a marketing and sales machine; and finally (8) sell products to clients. Fascinating experience to learn what it really takes to help move a company in a new direction! Show less

      DoD Systems Acquisition Professional

The Department of Defense has a complex acquisition process called the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS). They use it to help identify warfighters needs and then understand the most efficient manner to acquire new solutions. I've spent the past several years helping a customer navigate this process mine field to figure out what and how to buy a new way to measure the earth's magnetic field. It's all captured in a 'JCIDS manual' but the success we've had has been more about bringing the right experience together than being able to read a manual. And that success was recently measured by receiving the 2019 Director of National Intelligence IC Acquisition Team Innovation Award for applying the use of a Prize Challenge to acquire a new satellite-based magnetic field data source. A far less expensive and faster way to acquire capability to support operational National and DoD mission objectives! Show less
